Sealife is a small company that has specialised in dolphin watching on the Atlantic Ocean. We are operating from the marina of Lagos in the Algarve, the southern district of Portugal. From April through November we organise ocean safaris onboard our rigid inflatable boats, with the objective of showing you wild dolphins in their natural environment or other ocean wildlife such as whales, orcas, porpoises, turtles, sunfish or sharks.
The Fleet
Our fleet consist of two Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs). This type of boat is used by maritime agencies all over the world for their seaworthiness and reliability. Our boats are built under Lloyds classification and meet all safety standards for passenger boattrips required by Portuguese and international law.
Each boat is powered by an inboard turbocharged six-cylinder diesel engine of 320 HP. which can take the boat to a topspeed of over 40 knots (74km/hour). Our cruising speed is a comfortable 30 knots (56 km/hour). The boats can take twelve passengers and two crew. On board, each person will be provided an automatic inflatable lifejacket and if necessary a windproof jacket.
The Crew
All our friendly crew are professional and qualified boatdrivers. Not only do they have many years of training and experience, but also do they know where and how to look for wildlife at sea. They speak English, Portuguese, Dutch or German and before each trip they will inform you about weather conditions and onboard safety.
